THE FIRST BOOK OF NEPHI
HIS REIGN AND MINISTRY
An account of Lehi and his wife Sariah and his four sons, being called, (beginning at the eldest) Laman, Lemuel, Sam, and Nephi. The Lord warns Lehi to depart out of the land of Jerusalem, because he prophesieth unto the people concerning their iniquity and they seek to destroy his life. He taketh three days journey into the wilderness with his family. Nephi taketh his brethren and returneth to the land of Jerusalem after the record of the Jews. The account of their sufferings. They take the daughters of Ishmael to wife. They take their families and depart into the wilderness. Their sufferings and afflictions in the wilderness. The course of their travels. They come to the large waters. Nephis brethren rebel against him. He confoundeth them, and buildeth a ship. They call the name of the place Bountiful. They cross the large waters into the promised land, and so forth. This is according to the account of Nephi; or in other words, I, Nephi, wrote this record.

CHAPTER 1
Nephi begins the record of his people—Lehi sees in vision a pillar of fire and reads from a book of prophecy—He praises God, foretells the coming of the Messiah, and prophesies the destruction of Jerusalem—He is persecuted by the Jews. About 600 B.C.

    Hi Beautiful,
    My …

    Hi Beautiful,
My deep love for the Prophet Joseph Smith grew from learning how much he loved Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. His life exemplifies and fulfilled the commandment he received from Heavenly Father in the Sacred Grove, ” One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!”. He is my Hero! and I’m not so Christlike if someone should attack his reputation in my presence. These disks will make you weep.

    I would love to …
I would love to listen to those too, I have never heard of them. I feel of Joseph Smith’s goodness too and feel offended for him when people characterize him as other than that. Although it only reveals their own ignorance, it further sheds light that lies are being propagated about him, which only serves to fulfill the prophecy that his name would be held for good and evil throughout the world. Thank you for your generosity of spirit on my behalf. I appreciate your support.

Thank you, Mike. I do hope you forgive me my little weaknesses and human errors, I had to do these in one cut without editing. I love your idea of inviting the Holy Ghost to allow a greater depth of understanding and personal revelation. I am humbled by the responsibility.

    examples of God’d …
examples of God’d mysteries. This accounting is so replete with doctrinal paradigm that is quite humbling for me to read of their righteousness. So much more to consider and to ponder. I am so grateful to Heavenly Father for personal inspiration through the Holy ghost.

    Wow! First Nephi, …
Wow! First Nephi, is a most powerful and befitting commencement for the Book of Mormon; another inspired witness of Jesus Christ. As with any Great structure, requiring a solid foundation, this chapter is the inspired cornerstone of spiritual journal memorandum that establishes the veracity and substratum for this Great family’s ancient record of their unfolding spiritual experiences of recompense according to their faith. Each verse is explicit with the marvelous and bounteous ……..cont

This is outdated information. Even I have some videos on this. And FAIR and FARMS has demonstrated the serious significance of this. ANYTHING by William J. Hamblin is worth reading, and he has focused on just these issues… keep on learnin!

    Language Problems, …
    Language Problems,
The Book of Mormon states that the people spoke Hebrew but wrote in reformed Egyptian (1 Nephi 1:2; Mosiah 1:4; Mormon 9:33). Writing in 1923, B. H. Roberts, LDS general authority and historian, was already aware that there was a serious problem regarding the vast number of languages in America compared with the Book of Mormon claim that the people spoke Hebrew.
    Look into it for yourself.

    God Bless!
