    I liked yours …
I liked yours because of the ability to use dynamic criteria. It’s the same reason I liked MrExcel’s method better on the last lookup challenge.

    You’re both awesome!

    Dear amianondito,

    Dear amianondito,

    Thanks for the vote!!!
    But

The two methods that Mr Excel showed are clearly the best for most Excel users (The vast majority of people do not know how to use wildcards or the ampersand). The method that I used is clearly best because it shows all three at once.

    Now who really won?

Only Context knows who really won!!

    We already have one …
We already have one in the works for next Friday! I’ll try to even the score, but I already like Mike’s answer better than mine!!!

    I am an official …
I am an official nerd. I love this, including the theme song :)

Mike won this round, I’m afraid. Bring on more challenges!!

    Why under five …
    Why under five minutes?

When I was first thinking about podcasting, I checked out other tech podcasts. There was, at the time, a podcast called the Two Minute Photoshop Podcast. The first episodes that I watched were 7 and 9 minutes and it struck me that the guy wasn’t living up to his contract of showing something in two minutes. Since I promise a tip in 2-3 minutes, I don’t want to infringe on your time and make it be a longer podcast.

    Dear Team,

    3 …
    Dear Team,

3 methods to make different sorts of people happy:

    1) Filter & SUBTOTAL solution good for: a) Don’t mess with criteria syntax b) Works in all versions

    2) Table & SUBTOTAL solution good for: a) Don’t mess with criteria syntax b) Works only in 2003 & 2007

    3) COUNTIF and criteria syntax solution good for: a) Mess with criteria syntax b) Works in all versions

    I think it is a …
I think it is a good solution for this dual approach.Having 2 solutions help you to understand much better and faster the solutions. Why do you want to keep the videos under 5 min?Mike has awesome videos on his channel but none of those awesome videos are under 5 min, since he is explaining everything in great detail.Bottom line: awesome video and Mike’s idea seems more appealing. You aare doing an excellent job.
